According to the results of the first quarter of the current year, there has been 16.1 percent economic growth. The main impact on the overall indicator of economic growth was provided by the mining sector.
16.1 % economic growth recorded in Artsakh in first quarter, Artsakh State Minister
STEPANAKERT, MAY 16, ARTSAKHPRESS:As ArtsakhPress correspondent informs, Artsakh State Minister Arayik Harutyunyan said the aforementioned during the discussions on the Republic of Artsakh 2017 annual report on the execution of the state budget held on May 16.
“Among the developing branches within the country, agriculture, the mining industry and other spheres of service stand out. They are connected with information technologies and tourism. Construction works of a dozen of hydro-electric stations have been launched. It is possible to implement them by increasing the power of created infrastructures. They will provide growth, in terms of volume, both in the construction and energetic sphere,” Arayik Harutyunyan said, in particular.
Regarding the agriculture sphere, the State Minister said that growth is recorded every year, in terms of both quality and quantity.
“I foresee growth for this year. We have cultivated more land. We expect growth in harvesting as a result of the application of new technologies and the installation of drip irrigation systems. Horticulture is our target. I am confident that in the upcoming years we will again record growth, since hundreds of hectares of new orchards are planted every year thanks to the state policy, as well as attraction of investors”, Arayik Harutyunyan said.
