Karabakh Telecom to invest 10 million euros to improve quality of the Internet in Artsakh, Odabashyan said (video)

STEPANAKERT, MAY 24, ARTSAKHPRESS:As ArtsakhPress correspondent informs, company’s director general, Karekin Odabashyan, said the aforementioned during his press conference on May 23. He said there will be an official announcement soon.

In his words, currently, the packages of Karabakh Telecom allow their subscribers to save 20-90 percent compared to those who choose not to utilize the package options.

“Sixty-five percent of our Internet subscribers use 512 kb/s speed. The users of the Internet often have fluctuations of electricity that result in interruptions of Internet. Speaking of the speed, we should mention that 512kb/s almost doesn't exist in Armenia or abroad, since there are no websites that will open quickly with that speed. There have been recommendations that we should provide the public with Internet of higher speed. Regarding disconnections, we admit that there are accidents,'' Karekin Odabashyan said.

''Karabakh Telecom'' decreased tariffs in February of 2017 by 12.5%, and it will decrease by another 5% beginning June 1.

''Every year 100 million drams is spent on the electric network. Through the construction of a WI-FI network, 235 communities have been provided with internet access. This is 97 percent of the Artsakh population. Three percent of the Artsakh population that lives in Kashatagh uses the network of Armenian operators,'' Karekin Odabashyan added.
