Stepanakert demonstrators not satisfied with results of negotiations with President, protest continues

STEPANAKERT, JUNE 4, ARTSAKHPRESS: As ArtsakhPress correspondent informs, members of initiative group gave out details of issues discussed with the Artsakh President, Bako Sahakyan, on Sunday.

Member of the initiative group, Davit Simonyan, said that the President promised to make changes. ''At the meeting the question of making changes in power structures was raised. However, it was not completely accepted by the President. Bako Sahakyan promised to undertake systematic improvements, which will be connected not with changes of officials but with changes in the general policy and daily work. Besides, the President suggested to form a public council, in which a group of participants of our initiative will also be included,'' said Mr. Simonyan. Calling on the demonstrators, Davit Simonyan said that now they should decide to what extent they are satisfied with the conditions. The participants expressed discontent with the results of the negotiations.

Then Artsakh opposition MP, Hayk Khanumyan, delivered a speech, saying that the demands of the demonstrators are acceptable by large circles.

As of now, demonstrators continue to keep one of the central streets of Stepanakert closed.
