STEPANAKERT, JUNE 12, ARTSAKHPRESS: During the concert pupils of the college played on folk instruments and performed songs.

Director of the college, Karine Dadamyan, told ArtsakhPress that the college has been operating since 1961. In 2014 the building of the college was completely renovated with the joint financial support of Moscow-based Armenian benefactor, Armen Shahazizyan and “Hayastan” All-Armenian Fund.

In her words, various departments, including piano, string and folk instruments operate in the musical college.

“In 2017-2018 the college had 131 students. Number of students increases every year. This year we had 26 graduates, from which six will continue their education in Komitas State Conservatory of Yerevan. Students of the college periodically participate in different international competitions,’’ Karine Dadamyan added.

Speaking of problems, Karine Dadamyan said that the college is in need of musical instruments.

Present at the event were Artsakh Minister of Culture, Youth Affairs and Tourism, Sergey Shahverdyan, Artsakh Minister of Education, Scienece and Sport, Narine Aghabalyan, art lovers and others.
