STEPANAKERT, JUNE 14, ARTSAKHPRESS: Artsakh Healthcare Minister, Karine Atayan, and head of healthcare projects of the aforementioned fund, Hambardzum Simonyan, have signed the memorandum.

As ArtsakhPress correspondent informed, Karine Atayan said that the aim of the project is to improve the quality and availability of first aid in rural areas.

The Minsiter said that the project is being implemented in two phases: the first one was launched in spring of 2018. Within the framework of the project, eleven medical workers selected by the Healthcare Ministry have taken retraining courses in Armenia’s National Healthcare Institute.  Those retrained will share their experience and knowledge with medical workers of rural areas.

Karine Atayan next said that the Armenian Relief Fund has donated some medical supplies to Tumi’s and Mets Tagher’s rural medical centers.

The Fund’s Healthcare Projects head, Hambardzum Simonyan, said that in Artsakh, rural communities’ nurses sometimes have to take medical responsibility.

Hambardzum Simonyan noted that the role of nurses is important and the acquisition of proper knowledge and skills by them is a necessity.

Within the framework of “Improvement of community nurses’ skills” program, 120 nurses from Artsakh regions of Hadrut, Martakert, Kashatagh and Karvachar will participate in the training courses this year.

The trainings have started beginning June 13 in Hadrut: fifteen nurses participate in them.

To note, “Improvement of community nurses’ skills” project will be carried out until 2019 inclusive.
