On 6 July the solemn ceremony of awarding pupils from Artsakh having won medals at the final stage of subject Olympiad among schoolchildren in the Republic of Armenia for the 2017-2018 academic year was held at the Artsakh Republic President’s Residence.

The Head of the State highlighted the success and achievements registered by our schoolchildren, stressing the imperative of constantly improving, deepening and expanding knowledge, craving to attain new heights, never being discouraged by predicaments.
Artsakh Minister of Education, Science and Sport, Narine Aghabalyan said that some of the pupils and teachers have participated and won prizes several times.
“They are appreciated for their hard work and talent. Results of Olympiads allow us to not only assess pupils, but also the work carried out by teachers and schools.
“Seventy-seven schoolchildren from the Republic participated in the final stage of the subject Olympiad. Out of them 47 came back from Yerevan with medals and honorary certificates. Twenty-nine pupils captured first, second and third places. Thirteen are from village schools, five from regional centers, two from Chartar and nine from Stepanakert schools.
“Askeran region’s Sznek, Aknaghbyur, Martakert region’s Haterk community and Stepanakert School No 3 had the best results,’’ Narine Aghabalyan said.
Present at the solemn ceremony were Artsakh National Assembly Speaker, Ashot Ghulyan; State Minister, Grigory Martirosyan; and other officials.
