Under the auspices of the Artsakh Republic President and on the initiative of the Artsakh Athletics Federation, Igor Ter-Hovhannisyan and Robert Emmiyan (Armenian legendary long jump record holders) cup competitions will be hold in Stepanakert's Republican Stadium after Stepan Shahumyan on September 15-16.
World's fastest Armenian runner will visit Artsakh
STEPANAKERT, SEPTEMBER 14, ARTSAKHPRESS: Arthur Tovmasyan, President of the Artsakh Athletics Federation, told ArtsakhPress that 170 athletes from the US, Russia, Bulgaria, Armenia and Artsakh will participate in the competitions.
"It is noteworthy that Alexander Donikyan, Master of Sports of International Grade, world's fastest Armenian runner will also take part in the competitions. Donikyan expressed desire to get dual citizenship and has already applied to Armenian Government.
European youth champion, triple jumper Levon Aghasyan will also take part in the tournament,'' said Arthur Tovmasyan and noted that the aim of such competitions is to popularize athletics and to attract public interest. Entrance is free.
