Group of doctors from the USA perform free consultations and operations in Stepanakert, Artsakh

At the joint initiative of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund and the American leading ''Adventist Health Glendale'' Medical Center, a group of high-quality doctors from the United States of America will conduct free examinations and consultations, if necessary will also perform operations at the Republican Medical Center of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Artsakh from September 30-October 4.

STEPANAKERT, OCTOBER 1ARTSAKHPRESS: Doctors from the USA will perform various operations in the field of the general and vascular surgery, ophthalmology (cataract), traumatology and orthopedics, invasive vascular surgery, endoprosthesis of the knee joint, arthroscopy of the knee and shoulder joints, endoscopy and colonoscopy and also gynecologic operations.
In an interview with ArtsakhPress, Executive Director of Republican Medical Center Armen Khachatryan said: '' 220-240 operations are planned to be performed. Approximately $ 240,000 worth of equipment and $ 80,000 worth of medicines and medical supplies have been donated.'' He also noted that if all the registered patients are not diagnosed within the specified deadlines, another group of doctors will come from Fresno on October 6, who will perform medical interventions.
Romik Iskandaryan, a pharmacologist at the Adventist Health Glendale Medical Center, noted that it is already the fourth year that they visit Armenia within the framework of the program.
"This is our first visit to Artsakh. We are glad to cooperate with doctors here because I think the initiative will also give an opportunity to exchange experiences with local doctors,'' he noted.
Interventional neurologist Mikayel Grigoryan, Director of the Department of Interventional Neurology at the Adventist Health Glendale Medical Center, noted that for the first time carotid artery stenting was performed in Artsakh.
"Within the framework of the program, we will try to help local doctors and help our compatriots to have an opportunity to be treated with modern methods. Here is a team of skilled and competent interventional cardiologists whom we give extra knowledge so that they can successfully treat the diseases of the neck and brain,'' he added.
Mireille Hamparian, an ophthalmology specialist, said that the operations have been performed successfully.
"Today we have about 10 surgeries. They are not simple surgeries, but I hope that with the help of local doctors they will perform successfully. I think the program will be continuous,'' she noted.
