From September 29 to October 2, musicians of Stepanakert State Music College after Sayat Nova were in Lithuania at the invitation of the mayor of Varena, Lithuania, member of the Artsakh-Lithuania Friendship Circle, Algis Kasheta.

STEPANAKERT, OCTOBER 4ARTSAKHPRESS: ''Artsakhpress'' reports that, on September 29 as a part of the annual mushroom festival held in Varena, Artsakh musicians performed Armenian and Artsakh folk music, which were warmly received by the audience.

On October 1, musicians from State Music College after Sayat Nova took part in a photo exhibition titled "Life in Artsakh", dedicated to Artsakh, opened at the Museum of History and Culture at the Joniškis History and Culture Museum on the initiative of local Armenian businessman Vardges Hovsepyan. Gediminas Čepulis, the mayor of Joniškis, Deputy Mayor, Vaida Aleknavičienė, Member of the Lithuanian Seimas and member of the Artsakh-Lithuania Friendship Circle Vitalijus Gailius and others attended the event.
The attendees got acquainted with Artsakh's rich historical, cultural and architectural heritage, art and traditions.
Deputy Mayor, Vaida Aleknavičienė noted that they are interested in holding such events because they give an opportunity to get acquainted with Armenian history and culture more closely. Member of the Artsakh-Lithuania Friendship Circle Vitalijus Gailius noted that via photo and video materials they learnt about the progress of life in Artsakh. He expressed confidence that being well-acquainted with the history and culture of the Artsakh people, he is sure that the Artsakh people will keep and develop their homeland as they are the real owner of their country.

The event was concluded by the musical program performed by the Armenian musicians.

On October 2, at the Cultural Center of the National Minorities in Kaunas, a concert was held at the initiative of the Armenian community during which musicians from Artsakh presented musical instruments. Before the event, the audience honored the memory of Charles Aznavour, the great French-Armenian musician, with a minute of silence.
During the one hour long concert, works by Sayat-Nova, Gusan Ashot, Vladilen Balyan and other authors were performed.
It should be noted that the delegation of the Dilijan community, headed by the head of the community Armen Santrosyan was invited to the annual mushroom festival. On September 28, mayor of the city of Varena, Algis Kasheta and Mayor of Dilijan Armen Santrosyan signed a protocol on cooperation and friendly relations between Varena and Dilijan.
On September 29, the mayor of Dilijan participated in the annual festival of the city of Varen, welcoming the guests with the Armenian ambassador to Lithuania Tigran Mkrtchyan. The ambassador noted that during the last year’s festival he promised that within a year Varena will establish friendship with one of the Armenian cities and noted that he is happy for keeping his promise.
