Archbishop Pargev Martirosyan said that in the evening of October 17, Levon Hayrapetyan phoned and told that suspects he was poisoned.

"When he phoned, he could hardly speak, and something wrong was with his voice. I asked him what had happened; he said that the level of sugar decreased. Then I asked him how he felt, and he said that he suspected that he was poisoned. It seemed to me that he was just discouraged from prison life, and I even tried to encourage him, "said the Archbishop Pargev Martirosyan, adding that after a few hours, became known the death of the great philanthropist.

On the morning of 18 October, 2017 famous businessman, benefactor Levon Hayrapetyan passed away at the age of 68.
Levon Hayrapetyan was apprehended in July 2014 in Moscow under the charge of fraud, but denied the charge. In early October 2017, due to his health problems, the measure of restraint was replaced with house arrest.
