STEPANAKERT, OCTOBER 23, ARTSAKHPRESS: In an interview with "Artsakhpress", the head of Mataghis community Zaven Avanesyan said that there are some temporary residents among them. He noted that there is a large number of youth in the community.
"The community today has some problems; the most important of them is the issue of gasification of the community. Certainly, we have a great desire to solve this problem, but there are no programs in that direction, "said Z. Avanesyan.
The community has a school and a kindergarten. There are 109 pupils in the school, and 28 pupils in the kindergarten. Avanesyan informed that though the school building is newly built and was put into operation in 2007, there are some problems with building conditions. "The school and kindergarten do not have shelters corresponding to proper conditions. However, programs are envisaged, and appropriate works will be conducted in that direction," Z. Avanesyan noted.
The residents of Mataghis are mainly engaged in the cultivation but on a small scale. The head of the community noted that the number of people engaged in cattle breeding is very small.
