On November 30, the draft law “On Diplomatic Service” was adopted in the Parliament in the first reading (23 votes in favor).
Parliament adopts law on "Diplomatic Service"
STEPANAKERT, NOVEMBER 30, ARTSAKHPRESS: As “Artsakhpress” reports, the draft law was submitted to the Parliament by Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh, Masis Mayilian. He noted that the adoption of the law is a requirement of the Constitution and it will regulate the activities of diplomatic service bodies.
“The current law was adopted in 2005 and regulated the activities in diplomatic service. During the last 13 years there have been some developments and, taking account the constitutional amendments, we have found it expedient to present a new draft law,” Masis Mayilian noted.
Amendments to the law are aimed at the appointment and dismissal of the Permanent Representatives of the Republic of Artsakh, regulation of term of office, attestation procedure, as well as to simplify the mechanisms of filling vacancies of diplomatic service in an out-of-competition order.
The Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations of Artsakh Republic Arzik Mkhitaryan, presented the endorsement of the head committee.
