Artsakh Ombudsman summed up the results of the competition entitled "Human Rights through My Eyes"

Today, at the Stepanakert State Music College named after Sayat-Nova, the results of the photo and video competition entitled "Human Rights through My Eyes", dedicated to the 12th anniversary of the Constitution of Artsakh Republic and 70th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights were summed up.

STEPANAKERT,  DECEMBER 10, ARTSAKHPRESS: The competition was held by Human Rights Defender (Ombudsman)of the Republic of Artsakh. It was held under the auspices of the Board of Trustees of the Tufenkian Foundation, Judith and Victor Saryan, who in the separate nominations of photos and videos,allocated 150.000 drams for the first place, 100.000 drams for the second place and for the third place - 50.000 deams.

A group of participants also received special awards and diplomas by the Human Rights Defender.

As "Artsakhpress"reports, the Human Rights Defender of Artsakh, Artak Beglaryan made an opening speech at the event.
He said that the main goal of the competition is to increase the level of legal awareness in society.

"I think to some extent we have managed to implement it. We gave the schoolchildren an opportunity to think about human rights and to represent their perceptions and approaches in this direction. The competition lasted 16 days, which, in my opinion, is a short time for creating quality videos or photos.
As a result we have had 44 photos and 11 videos. I'm glad we had wonderful work. Next time we will give children much time to work. In their work, they have mainly represented people's rights to life and peace.In general, the results of the competition are satisfactory , " noted Artak Beglaryan.

The second Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Artsakh, Ruben Melikyan, congratulated the 12th anniversary of the Constitution of Artsakh Republic and the 70th anniversary of the universal declaration of Human Rights, as well as on the Constitution Day, adopted 12 years ago by a nationwide referendum. These three important documents are about freedom and human rights.

Minister of Education, Science and Sport of the Republic of Artsakh,Narine Aghabalyan also attached importance to the competition.
“The competition, announced by the Human Rights Defender, enabled the schoolchildren from all the districts of Artsakh to express their views and ideas on human rights,” she noted.

The Minister of Culture, Youth Affairs and Tourism of the Republic of Artsakh, Lernik Hovhannisyan congratulated the participants of the contest, noting that today’s generation is purposeful, talented with a strong will.

The winner of the photo contest was the 12th grade student of Stepanakert Vitali Jhangiryan school, Sophie Abrahamyan and the winner of the video was the 11th grade student of the Bazmatus School of Kashatagh region, Christine Harutyunyan.

Students of Sayat-Nova Musical College performed at the event.
