STEPANAKERT, DECEMBER 13, ARTSAKHPRESS: Within the framework of the law signed by President Donald Trump, the United States will provide direct assistance to Christians—including Armenians, Yazidis, and other minorities living in the Middle East.
But from representatives of the religious organizations also functioning in the US, solely Archbishop Aykazian of the Armenian Apostolic Church was in attendance to this law’s signing ceremony at the White House. The other religious representatives had arrived from abroad.
In the conversations preceding the signing ceremony, a US State Department representative stressed Armenia’s contribution to the acceptance of Christian refugees from the Middle East, the archbishop noted.
He added that US National Security Adviser John Bolton was particularly impressed with his visit to Armenia, while President Trump was well-informed about Armenians.
