It is better to talk for a long time than to shoot. Tigran Abrahamyan
STEPANAKERT,  JANUARY 17, ARTSAKHPRESS: The interview is presented below.
-Mr. Abrahamyan, how would you comment the statement made by the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs about the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan on January 16?
-Frankly speaking, I do not know what mutual understanding or mutual trust was about, especially it is already mentioned as a fact, they talk about its “broad character”. This mutual trust and mutual understanding must be trilateral, including Artsakh, and I do not want to speak about the level of trust between Artsakh and Azerbaijan because it does not exist at all. In any case, information and analyzes from various sources suggest the otherwise. Maybe it is the admonition of co-chairs for the parties to exchange positive messages at least at this stage, I can not say. From a general point of view, it may not be bad, but in terms of content, it tells me nothing.
- Is there a document around which discussions take place?
-As far as I understand, at least one of the parties does not want to move forward according to the previous documents, there is nothing about new document at the official level, and nothing new has been presented to Artsakh. I do not even want to comment on backstage information.
-  In this case is it worth to have talks with Azerbaijan, does it make sense to meet and discuss?
-It is better to speak, talk for  a long time than to shoot, of course, my mentioned circumstance cannot be long-term. In any case, I think that Azerbaijan should clearly state whether is ready for negotiations, or is ready for a real dialogue and whether their task is not to win time and go the other way on the appropriate occasion.
In any case, understanding and trust will be formed when answers to the questions are received.
