On 22 January Artsakh Republic President Bako Sahakyan received member of the Union of the Armenian Doctors of France, president of the "Hay-Med" Medical Humanitarian Association, anesthesiologist- resuscitator Jean-Michel Ekherian.

STEPANAKERT,  JANUARY 22, ARTSAKHPRESS: The President expressed gratitude to Jean-Michel Ekherian for his consistent support to Artsakh and realization of a number of philanthropic projects in the healthcare sphere handing in the "Vachagan Barepasht" medal to him.

In an interview with “Artsakhpres”, Jean-Michel Ekherian said that it is a great honor for him to be awarded with such medal by Artsakh Republic President.

The French-Armenian philanthropist noted that various issues related to the healthcare sphere were discussed during the meeting.

Jean-Michel Ekherian noted that he visited Artsakh 3-4 times a year and every year donates new equipment and medicines to the Artsakh medical institutions.

Visiting Artsakh for thirty years, I am only excited by the persistence, will and determination of the people of Artsakh. Every year I notice that healthcare sphere is developing in Artsakh. I am glad that medical institutions are also operating in rural areas of Artsakh.

If comparing Artsakh hospitals with medical institutions of developed countries, I must say that there is no difference in terms of conditions, “he added.

He noted that within the framework of the visit he donated pulse oximetry- Masimo device to “Arevik” children's medical unit, as well as optic of laparoscopic device to oncology service of "Republican Medical Center”.

Talking about the upcoming programs, our interlocutor said that he plans to acquire new equipment for the development of Artsakh's orthopedic surgery.
