SOAD lead vocalist Serj Tankian arrives in Armenia

The System of a Down (SOAD) rock band's lead vocalist, Serj Tankian, arrived in Yerevan with his musicians on Tuesday afternoon, a day after attending the premiere of an Armenian Genocide movie in Moscow.

STEPANAKERT, APRIL 21, ARTSAKHPRESS։ The band landed at the Zvartnots international airport at 2:00 pm local time.

A crowd of journalists had gathered at the airport’s VIP lounge for a chance to photograph or talk to the musicians, but a producer who was there to meet Tankian and the other band members warned that no photos were allowed.

The movie ‘1915’m which was premiered in the Russian capital on Monday, is a joint production by US filmmakers. It is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

April 23, a day before the the tragic anniversary, the US-Armenian band will perform a concert in Yerevan's Republic Square.
