A fire broke out yesterday in the southeastern part of the Kashatagh region.
Kashatagh Region situation still intense as residents fight fires
STEPANAKERT, JUNE 18, ARTSAKHPRESS: Zohrab Erkoyan, the editor of Meran journal, informed Artsakhpress that the height of the fire reached several meters.
Headed by Souren Khachatrian, the Aghadzor community residents with the fire brigade began extinguishing the fire.
The Minister of Agriculture Andranik Khachatrian and the Director of State Emergency Service Arthur Haroutyunyan were present.
Residents and the firefighting forces were able to extinguish the fire after 7 to 8 hours battling the flames. Erkoyan said that fortunately the fire did not damage any crops. Artsakhpress also learned there is thought that the fire has penetrated into the Kashatagh Region from the Azerbaijan territory.
