STEPANAKERT, FEBRUARY 16, ARTSAKHPRESS-ARMENPRESS: Head of the State Agency of Religious Affairs of Georgia Zaza Vashakhmadze, who delivered an annual report on February 15, informed about this.
He mentioned that state financial assistance to religious associations for 2016 is estimated at 4 million and 500 thousand Liras (1.8 million USD). Last year 3 million and 500 thousand Liras (1.4 million USD) was allocated for the purpose.
Nearly 890 thousand USD of that sum was allocated to the Muslim society of Georgia, nearly 162 thousand USD - Roman Catholic Church, over 131 thousand USD – Jewish community in Georgia.
