STEPANAKERT, MARCH 2, ARTSAKHPRESS: The report says dozens of human skeletons were found near the church. It is believed they belong to the Yezidis living nearby. The Armenian population had fled the area by the time the Islamic State terrorist organization attacked it.

Sinjar town is located in the northern part of Iraq and is considered center of the Iraqi Yezidis. The church in question is affiliated with the Armenian Catholic Church and little is known about it.
