The Armenian side has never been against the deployment of peacekeepers in the Nagorno Karabakh conflict zone, however, during an interview with the German “Deutsche Welle” TV channel, the Armenian President stated that the conflict should find a complete and final solution.
Serzh Sargsyan: We are not against deployment of peacekeepers, but Nagorno Karabakh conflict should find final solution
STEPANAKERT, APRIL 8, ARTSAKHPRESS-ARMENPRESS: “We have never been against the deployement of peacekeepers, however, we think that the conflict should find a complete and final solution. Quite the contrary, we expressed our readiness to sign a corresponding document that would call for a comprehensive settlement of the conflict, including the presence of peacekeeping forces between the two parties. However, Azerbaijanis did not want it”, the President Sargsyan mentioned.
The President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan was on official visit to Germany from April 6 to April 7. During the visit the Armenian President met with German high-ranking officials: the President of Germany Joachim Gauck, Bundestag President Norbert Lammert, Foreign Minister of Germany, the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Frank-Walter Steinmeier. During an interview with the “Deutsche Welle” TV channel the President answered the questions related to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, the sale of weapons by Russia to Azerbaijan, about the membership to the Eurasian Economic Union and the resolution on the Armenian Genocide issue by Bundestag.
