STEPANAKERT, OCTOBER 18, ARTSAKHPRESS-ARMENPRESS: Minister Mkrtchyan congratulated the Ambassador on beginning her diplomatic mission in Armenia and expressed conviction that the Armenian-Greek relations in the educational sector will achieve new developments and highlighted the implementation of practical steps for development and deepening of cooperation.

Her Excellency Nafsika Nancy Eva Vraila expressed gratitude for the present cooperation in the field and attached importance to the role of education for the dynamic development of the friendly relations between the two countries.

The meeting mainly focused on the 2016-2020 education and research cooperation program between the governments of Armenia and Greece, which was signed in March of 2016 in Greece. According to the program the further cooperation between research and higher education institutions will be boosted with the goal of realizing joint educational projects and to implement scholarship exchanges. Centers of Greek and Armenian studies are planned to be established in universities of Armenia and Greece respectively, aiming at the development and spreading of language and culture.

The sides expressed assurances that the program will boost the development and strengthening of educational cooperation between Armenia and Greece.

At the same time the sides expressed willingness to take necessary steps to ensure the ratification of the document by the Parliament as soon as possible.
