President of Artsakh Republic (NKR) Bako Sahakyan received on October 24 OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs Igor Popov (Russian Federation), Pierre Andrieu (France), James Warlick (USA), personal representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-office, Ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk and accompanying them officials.
No New Proposals were discussed with NKR President: Popov
STEPANAKERT, OCTOBER 24, ARTSAKHPRESS:After the meeting, Russian co-chair noted that no new proposals were discussed with NKR president. "Our proposals are not new; they are still on the table and are still being discussed. Yesterday we discussed this topic in Baku. It was a very detailed discussion. Today in Stepanakert we discussed issues related to the Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict settlement and the military situation. Bako Sahakyan presented the changes that have been made, also talked about the expected ones, " said Popov during the briefing with journalists, adding that with Artsakh president they discussed peaceful settlement of the conflict.
OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair, in response to the commentary on the recent diversion attack made by the Azerbaijani armed forces in the Nagorno Karabakh-Azerbaijani contact line and on violations of the ceasefire regime by firing various caliber weapons, noted that these issues will be discussed at the meeting with the defense minister. Speaking about increasing the number of OSCE observers, Popov noted that this issue is still being discussed.
Referring to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's statement made in Yerevan on October 14 that Turkey can have a positive effect in Karabakh conflict settlement, Popov said: "I think that Lavrov meant the protocols signed between Armenia and Turkey in 2009, which in case of ratification and re-opening of closed borders can exert positive impact on the Karabakh conflict peaceful settlement."
