Mortar shelling by Azerbaijan in the north eastern (Yarmja) and northern (Talish) directions of the contact line of Karabakh-Azerbaijan opposing armies continued until 15:30 with sporadic intervals, press service of NKR Defense Ministry informed.
Situation calm on Karabakh frontline after heavy shootings
STEPANAKERT, NOVEMBER 11, ARTSAKHPRESS: The statement issued by NKR Defense Ministry reads as follows, “Mortar shelling by Azerbaijan that started at 12:15 on November 11 in the north eastern (Yarmja) and northern (Talish) directions of the contact line of Karabakh-Azerbaijan opposing armies continued until 15:30 with sporadic intervals. In the mentioned period 37 projectiles were fired in the direction of Armenian border guards, 13 of which were 60 mm caliber, and the rest were 80 mm caliber.
In addition to the mortar shelling, Azerbaijani troops used different caliber gunfire weapons in the eastern (Akna) direction of the contact line, including “Black Arrow” (8 shots) and “Istiglal” (25 shots) large caliber sniper rifles.
Defense Army front line unit vigilantly follow the activities of Azerbaijani troops and take adequate measures in case of necessity to keep the state border impregnable.
At the moment the situation on the contact line is relatively calm.”
