Armenia Parliament deputy chair to head CIS observation mission to Kyrgyzstan

STEPANAKERT, NOVEMBER 25, ARTSAKHPRESS: Sharmazanov on Thursday met with speaker Chinibay Tursunbekov of the Parliament of the Kyrgyzstan.

The talk was held on the initiative of the Kyrgyz side, as News.am reports, the NA stated.

The interlocutors conferred on Armenian-Kyrgyz parliamentary relations, and underscored the coordinated activities within international platforms.

Tursunbekov noted that Armenia’s and Kyrgyzstan’s joining the Eurasian Economic Union—which also comprises Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan—is very important for the development of Armenian-Kyrgyz ties.

Sharmazanov, for his part, highlighted the coordinated work by the two countries’ parliamentary delegations to the CSTO.

At the end of the meeting, speaker of the Kyrgyz parliament proposed that the vice president of the Armenian National Assembly head the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Interparliamentary Assembly observation mission during the constitutional reform referendum to be conducted in Kyrgyzstan.
