US President Donald Trump fired acting Justice Minister and Attorney General Sally Yates for refusing to defend new order on immigration restriction, reports Reuters.

President Trump fires acting Attorney General who defied immigration order

STEPANAKERT, JANUARY 31, ARTSAKHPRESS: Yates said that the Justice Department would not defend the order against court challenges, saying that she did not believe it would be "consistent with this institution's solemn obligation to always seek justice and stand for what is right”.

Earlier Trump nominated Republican Senator Jeff Sessions for the post of Justice Minister and Attorney General who is awaiting Senate confirmation.

Trump signed an executive order on suspending the US refugee program for 120 days. The order also restricted the entry of citizens from Syria, Iraq, Iran, Somalia, Sudan, Libya and Yemen to the country for 90 days.
