According to preliminary results, both Glendale City Council incumbents and a former candidate—and all Armenians—held the top spots in the race to fill three open seats on the council Tuesday night.

STEPANAKERT, APRIL 5 ARTSAKHPRESS: Challenger Vrej Agajanian held a razor thin lead, with 6,288 votes, over incumbent Ara Najarian, who had 6,132 votes. In close third was incumbent Zareh Sinanyan with 5,998 votes, reported the Los Angeles Times.

The final outcome should be posted on April 21, according to the city’s website.

Ten candidates are vying for the three vacant Glendale City Council seats, and four of them are Armenian: Ara Najarian, Vrej Agajanian, Onnik Mehrabian, and Zareh Sinanyan.
