The Artsakh Investment Fund, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Armenia and the Events Service Center “Evencenter” organized Artsakh Economic Forum 2017, which took place during the period from September 29th to October 02nd, in the capital of the Artsakh Republic Stepanakert.

STEPANAKERT, OCTOBER 2, ARTSAKHPRESS: The forum was dated for the 10 anniversary of Artsakh Investment Fund. The main theme of the Business Forum was “Investment Policy of the Artsakh Republic. Public Private Partnership as Basis of Global Development of National Economy”. In the framework of the event plenary meeting, section sessions, B2B meetings and bilateral business meetings were held.
The main purposes of the Forum were organizing negotiations between Artsakh, Armenian and foreign companies, including in an informal situation; finding of new business contacts; expansion of the sphere of business activity; discussion of the major economic problems with representatives of the Government.
Members of the Government of the Artsakh Republic, representatives of various unions and associations, and also heads of the large companies of the Artsakh Republic, the Republic of Armenia and foreign countries attended the forum.
The event was also attended by delegations from the Russian Federation, USA, Georgia, Transdniestrian Moldavian and South Ossetian republics.
Arayik Haroutyunyan, the Minister of State of the Republic of Artsakh, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Artsakh Investment Fund welcoming the guests said; “One of the important missions of the Investment Fund was the fact that it has been able to provide available financial resources for the economy, subsidizing interest rates on loans provided by banks. "As a result, the fund's role in ensuring 8-10% of real GDP growth per year has been great, and thanks to all these works, in 2017, In Artsakh, GDP growth by 15% is predicted, ” he said.
General Director of the Artsakh Investment Fund Artak Mirzoyan, summarizing the activities of 10 years, noted that the Fund has implemented numerous programs of state support for the development of entrepreneurship in Artsakh and the improvement of the housing conditions of the citizens. He stressed that one of the priority activities of the Fund is the partial subsidizing program of interest rates for small and medium enterprises.
Deputy Prime Minister of Transdnestrian Moldavian Republic Alexei Tsurkan and Minister of Economic Development of South Ossetia Genady Kokoev have made a speech at a conference.
Afterwards, round-table discussions were organized in 6 sections, during which business entities had an opportunity to get acquainted with Artsakh's investment potential, to discuss cooperation issues. The participants of the two-day economic forum got acquainted with the economic potential of Artsakh and visited historical and cultural sites.
According to the head of organizing committee of the conference Karen Ivanov, the forum served the purpose, as already dozens of agreements on cooperation have been reached.
