STEPANAKERT, SEPTEMBER 29, ARTSAKHPRESS: The leaders of the two countries met in the frames of the General assembly session held in UN headquarters.

Immediately after the negotiations with the U.S president, Putin informed that the situation in Syria and Russia’s participation in resolving the conflict, as well as the conflict in Eastern Ukraine is in the center of attention.

“Today’s conversation was very constructive, practical and surprisingly very sincere,” said the head of RF to the journalists.” We found a lot of contact points, but disagreements also exist,” added Putin.

“Our American partners showed their position very clearly on numerous issues, as well as on normalization of the situation in Ukraine and Syrian theme,” said Russian President.

As the representative of the White House informs, Barack Obama expressed his anxiety over the implementation process of the agreements made in Minsk on normalization of the conflict in Eastern Ukraine.

Obama announced that the normalization of the Syrian conflict is impossible, as long as the head of the power is Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

Vladimir Putin called for the support of the president Asad, as according to him, Asad is the only legal leader.

However, as BBC mentions, Obama and Putin emphasized the importance of their cooperative struggle against the “Islamic State”.
