The situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) Republic is now relatively calm following the overnight tensions incited by Azerbaijan’s armed forces, a spokesperson for the NKR president said today, dismissing the reports on a rising panic.
Situation relatively calm in Nagorno-Karabakh: Presidential spokesman
STEPANAKERT, APRIL 2, ARTSAKHPRESS: “Artsakh supports a peaceful settlement [of the continuing Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict], but if Azerbaijan triggers a war, we will end up raising the Artsakh flag over the Azerbaijani Reichstag,” David Babayan told Tert.am.
He added that the country is not in a state of panic at the moment. “We feel, naturally, inquietude in a situation as this, but there isn’t any panic at all. We defend our fatherland, our future and our children. And what about Azerbaijan’s population? Are they expected to defend corrupt [President Iham] Aliyev?”
In a statement released earlier today, Nagorno-Karabakh's Ministry of Defense said that its armed forces neutralized two Azerbaijani tanks, two drones and two military helicopters while pushing back the adversary from their frontline military positions.
