Azerbaijan’s deployment of military units in the settlements contiguous to Nagorno-Karabakh is a clear violation of the norms of international law (Geneva Conventions of 12 August 1949, additional Protocol I, page 58), as NEWS.am reports, wrote Sponda Sud newspaper of Italy.

STEPANAKERT, MAY 2, ARTSAKHPRESS: As per the newspaper, the respective actual proof is the satellite pictures, which unambiguously attest to what extent Baku has strengthened its military presence in the conflict region.
Sponda Sud noted that these photos clearly show the Azerbaijani military units’ presence in the densely populated area, near which there are no Nagorno-Karabakh troops or armed units.
The Italian newspaper added that these photos refute the statements by Baku, which for weeks claims that its campaign is not military, but a lawful defense against Armenian aggression; a position, in which no one seems to believe any longer.
