STEPANAKERT, SEPTEMBER 6, ARTSAKHPRESS: “With the adoption of such declarations, Artsakh is gaining an international recognition. This is an ongoing process; one declaration is not enough to decide everything, but it is really crucial in terms of making Artsakh recognizable to the world. Many countries and peoples thus obtain accurate and objective information about our country,” Babayan told Tert.am.

Asked to comment on the processes that led to the decision, Babayan said, “It is the result of our joint work, first of all a fair proof of the Armenia-Artsakh-Diaspora triunity.”

Babayan described the move as a sign of attention to the second Armenian Republic.

In the declaration adopted on Monday, the participants of the forum emphasized, among other things, the importance of reaching a peaceful solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The document states that the people in Nagorno-Karabakh must exercise their right to live in their historical homeland without facing threats or violence.

The document signed also expresses support to the OSCE Minsk Group’s mediation efforts towards a peaceful settlement.
