Assisting Armenians of Aleppo is the key point of the ARF Armenian National Committee of Europe’s agenda, ANC Europe liaison Bedo Demirjian told.
ANC Europe takes steps to assist Armenians of Aleppo
STEPANAKERT, OCTOBER 12, ARTSAKHPRESS-ARMENPRESS: “The Armenian National Committee of Europe organizes discussions in different directions regarding the issue of assisting Syrian-Armenians. We are in contact with several agencies of the European Union. We hold discussions with Belgian lawmakers”, Demirjian said.
Mr. Demirjian noted the ANC Europe has similar experience. Previously they have delivered aid to Armenians of Syria and Iraq through the Foreign Ministry of Belgium. In addition they send delegations to those countries to review the situation on the scene.
Mr. Demirjian says currently they are discussing the issue of dispatching a delegation to Lebanon and Syria soon. ANC representatives and Belgian lawmakers are planned to be included in the delegation.
Terrorists shelled the Armenian populated districts of Aleppo on September 30, resulting in casualties among the Armenian population. President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan instructed two aircrafts to deliver humanitarian aid from Armenia to Syria.
