STEPANAKERT, OCTOBER 18, ARTSAKHPRESS: “We plan to visit the region after October 20. We will visit Azerbaijan, Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh. Meetings with the leadership and the military officials are expected. We plan to discuss the implementation ways of agreements reached at the Vienna and St. Petersburg summits which will contribute to establishing stability in the conflict zone”, Popov said. He also informed that the prospects of the negotiation process will be discussed during the visit.
In response to rumors of surrendering 5 regions of Nagorno Karabakh to Azerbaijan, Igor Popov said the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement must be considered in a coordinated form together with all elements for settlement, including the status of Nagorno Karabakh, the return of all refugees, the maintenance of corridor connecting the NKR with Armenia, the implementation of peacekeeping activities.
“The settlement process is a single package, and any attempt to remove separate elements preferable for this or that side from the package is destructive”, Popov said.
