The latest incident in the line of contact of Nagorno Karabakh-Azerbaijan once again underscores the urgent need for the parties to immediately resume negotiations on establishing lasting security and peace in the region, OSCE Minsk Group US Co-Chair Ambassador Richard Hoagland told Armenpress.

Latest incident underscores necessity to immediately resume talks, says OSCE Minsk Group US Co-Chair

STEPANAKERT, FEBRUARY 28, ARTSAKHPRESS-ARMENPRESS: “In our February 25 statement, my fellow Co-Chairs and I reiterated our call for respect for the ceasefire and a commitment to the non-use of force. This latest incident once again underscores the urgent need for the parties to immediately resume negotiations on establishing lasting security and peace in the region”, he said.

On February 25, around 03:00-04:00, Azerbaijani forces attempted to launch an offensive in the NK line of contact, using heavy equipment and personnel simultaneously in two directions – Martuni and Akna.

The advancing Azerbaijani forces were spotted by the Defense Army special devices, and were forced to retreat by suffering losses.
