Today at Artsakh State University Shavarsh Kocharyan, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia, and David Shahnazaryan, leading expert for the Regional Studies Center gave a lecture on "The foreign policy of Armenia in the context of global and regional challenges" theme.

STEPANAKERT, APRIL 28, ARTSAKHPRESS: As "Artsakhpress" reports, Sh. Kocharyan said that very rapid changes are taking place in the world, which contain both dangers and opportunities.
"The first was the global financial crisis; it is possible that it will happen again. This speaks about the fact that something does not fit the current situation. The second is that even the people of the Western world are inclined to make changes: Britain’s leaving the European Union, Donald Trump’s unexpected election win , the electoral process in France.
Overall, the changes occurring in the world give rise to new demands. There is one factor, which is very important and is the basis for any foreign policy; it is demography. In this respect, indicators of Artsakh are better than Armenian ones, "said Sh. Kocharyan. 
David Shahnazaryan noted that he is confident that in the coming years new technologies will have the greatest impact on humanity.
"I mean new sources of energy that are not related to oil and gas. I believe that humanity is in this transitional phase. Stone Age ended because the technology is constantly evolving. Oil is running out. Green Energy is moving forward with great strength, which will change the world.
It will have positive impact on Armenia, because we are not an oil country," said David Shahnazaryan. Afterwards, they answered the students' questions.
