Peacekeepers can be deployed in Karabakh if conflicting parties agree: Popov
STEPANAKERT, OCTOBER 16, ARTSAKHPRESS: The Russian co-chair of the Minsk Group of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), Igor Popov, told to APA news agency of Azerbaijan.
“As envisioned by the decision of the Budapest Summit, the multinational forces’ deployment for peacekeeping purposes will be preceded by the respective UN Security Council decision,” Popov added. “The selection of such a contingent from the countries that are willing to provide peacekeeping forces will be carried out based on the agreement of the parties to the conflict.”
