On 10 January, at St. Jacob church of Stepanakert the Cross of Water Blessing of Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin was welcomed by the Primate of the Artsakh Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church Archbishop Pargev Martirosyan, as well as blessing ceremony of Defense Army took place.

STEPANAKERT, JANUARY 10, ARTSAKHPRESS: Artsakhpress learned that the Cross of Water Blessing was taken to St.Jacob church by the Karabakh Defense Army Colonel Jalal Harutyunyan.
After the blessing ceremony Archbishop Pargev Martirosyan highlighted the importance of soldier’s mission in maintenance of freedom, faith and national dignity.
“It is a great honor to be the Godfather of the Cross. This year will be special for me, as I have assumed honorable and great responsibility. Faith in God should be a priority for a Christian military. As it is impossible to carry the title without faith,” noted Jalal Harutyunyan .
"Today we had the honor to welcome the Holy Cross brought from the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. We are grateful for giving an opportunity to our commander Jalal Harutyunyan to be the Godfather of the Cross . The cross will be kept for 40 days in military units and on frontline. Every soldier believes that God is with him,” said Deacon Hrayr Hakobyan.
The NKR Defense Minister Levon Mnatsakanyan, officers,and soldiers attended the blessing ceremony.
