Martakert is celebrating the 23rd anniversary of its liberation.
23rd anniversary of Martakert liberation marked in Artsakh
STEPANAKERT, JUNE 28, ARTSAKHPRESS: Military march began in Martakert today in the early morning. Workers of the Martakert administration, veterans and residents of Martakert, headed by the head of Martakert regional administration Vladik Khachatryan, visited “Glory to the fighters" memorial and paid tribute to those who fell victim during the war.
In an interview with Artsakhpress, Martakert Mayor Michael Gyurjyan noted that Martakert,which was under the domination of the enemy for a year, was liberated on 28 June, 1993. He also noted that today festive events will be held to celebrate the Martakert liberation.
On June 26-28,1993 thanks to a brilliant military operation Martakert was liberated from the enemy.
