Armenia’s membership in the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) brought disadvantage to our economy, creating problems in both the development of joint normative databases and the incorporation of documents adopted by the Eurasian Economic Commission, the minister of economy said today, Tert.am reports.
Eurasian integration major disadvantage to Armenia’s economy – minister
STEPANAKERT, JULY 8, ARTSAKHPRESS: “We need a unanimous approach. If products are imported from Russia to Armenia, for instance, the tax authorities should not be entitled to require documents such as certificates,” Artsvik Minasyan told reporters at a news conference.
He stressed the importance of eliminating red tape and facilitating other procedures to raise the Armenian products’ marketability in the common trade-economic zone.
The minister agreed that the absence of a common border with the other member states creates extra difficulties for the domestic exporters. “But that does not absolutely eliminate our chances, as we can still benefit from the EEU’s big market,” he added.
