Artsakh Athlete wins gold medal at the34th European Traditional Karate-Do Championship

Today at the monument to Stepan Shahumyan, the members of Artsakh Karate-Do Federation and “Decision” Civic Initiation met Artsakh athletes returning from the 34th European Traditional Karate-Do Championship, held in in Odintsovo, Russia.

STEPANAKERT, OCTOBER 15,  ARTSAKHPRESS: 11 athletes from Artsakh participated in the championship.

In an interview with "Artsakhpress", Aram Gevorgyan, the head coach of the Artsakh Karate-do Federation, said that the results of the championship are satisfactory, the athletes have justified their expectations.
“One of our athletes Tigran Gevorgyan, who has been participating in diverse championships since 2009, has won a gold medal and become a European champion. This championship was unprecedented as all the athletes participating in the tournament have won prizes.
European champion Tigran Gevorgyan, who won the first place in the championship, noted that the tournament was difficult but he managed to win.
According to him, more than 800 athletes from 15 countries participated in the tournament. Speaking about the results, the athlete said it is the result of their hard work of 10 years.
He added  that they returned to Artsakh with 1 gold, 7 bronze and 9 silver medals.
