STEPANAKERT, JANUARY 21, ARTSAKHPRESS: Thus, the parliament voted to change the current parliamentary system to the presidential form of government.

The bill will be submitted for approval of President Erdogan this week. A nationwide referendum on the amendments will be held in early April.

Pursuant to these amendments, incumbent President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will oversee the Turkish Armed Forces General Staff and the intelligence, which currently are under the PM’s jurisdiction. 

Erdogan will be given the right to give  appoint ministers, and to put constitutional amendment-related matters to referendum.
