Aren Khachatryan, a young gardener from Artsakh, has been engaged in agriculture for seven years.
I have about 115 thousand seedlings to be sold. The young gardener told about his successful business
STEPANAKERT, NOVEMBER 12, ARTSAKHPRESS: Over the past three years, he has been engaged in growing pomegranate seedlings, the number of which has increased so much that it gives an opportunity to sell the seedlings. In an interview with ‘’Artsakhpress’’, Aren Khachatryan said that he sold only 1,000 seedlings in the first year.
‘’In the second year this number amounted to 5,000. With the support of Artsakh Village and Agriculture Support Fund I have about 115 thousand seedlings to be sold. I think the state support allows the young agronomists to expand the activities and develop new lands, "he said and added that the sale of seedlings begins in late November and continues until April.
By the way, the young agronomist is engaged in cultivating 3 hectares of different fruit trees: figs, quinces, peaches, apples, apricots, pears, honey, cherries, and sweet cherries.
"This year, we have cultivated 35 hectares of sunflower, as well as 10 hectares of buckwheat and 25 hectares of wheat. I think, the most important condition for the development of agriculture is favorable climatic conditions; the condition which Artsakh has, " Khachatryan concluded.
