STEPANAKERT, NOVEMBER 14, ARTSAKHPRESS:  The construction will last for several years and reservoir water through the cascade by gravity flow will move to the adjacent fields of Martakert, building 3 new reservoirs and irrigating more than 10,000 hectares of land.

Adviser and representative at large to the Artsakh President, Arayik Harutyunyan, wrote this on his Facebook page.
Referring to the investment program, Harutyunyan noted that, according to the agreement, more than $100 million will be invested.
"As you remember, during my recent visit to European countries, informing about some investment projects, I said that we should wait for good news. I am glad to note that after the intensive discussions during and after the visit, we have successfully completed negotiations on the implementation of more than $ 100 million investment projects. The program, in my opinion, will become one of the largest economic projects  in Artsakh and the guarantor of agricultural development of the sub-region, " noted Harutyunyan  and that the irrigation system needs great investments in Artsakh. As of today we have up to 10,000 hectares of garden and field that are being irrigated irregularly, which makes up about 10% of the cultivated lands.

As Arayik Harutyunyan noted they also agreed on the construction of new hydropower plants on the cascade which will increase the production of electricity by promoting its export.

"By the way, according to the data of nine months of this year, our country produced more than 290 million kW of electricity; it has been increased by 20.5 percent as compared to the same period  of last year. 267 million kW were used for internal consumption from this volume. And in the coming years we plan to increase the volume of electricity produced in the country up to 1 billion kW," Harutyunyan wrote.
Shareholders of the investing company who are not of Armenian origin will also have an important role in the development of horticulture in Artsakh.

Harutyunyan added that with Diaspora philanthropists they are discussing a number of charity programs, about them he will inform later.
