Great flow of refugees is not expected in Armenia: Gagik Yeganyan

STEPANAKERT, SEPTEMBER 10, ARTSAKHPRESS-ARMENPRESS: Head of State Migration Service of the Ministry of Territorial Administration of Armenia Gagik Yeganyan told journalists that there is a center for refugees’ shelter in Armenia where the annual applications do not exceed 400.

“But if we receive 500 or 700 applications, we’ll find solutions for them. Hundreds of thousands of refugees will not come to Armenia. There has not been even a small refugee flow recently. There is no change in the number of applications. They mainly come from African countries, Afghanistan, Syria. The person decides on his own which country to choose. In this regard, they choose the most convenient option: a country with good conditions, safety etc. Armenia is not a very convenient option in this reference. Armenia is out of competition as compared to European countries. There is safety but life standards are lower and this is the reason why a great refugee flow is not expected in Armenia,” emphasized Gagik Yeganyan.
