The European Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, Johannes Hahn, has not said that the negotiation process with Armenia should be accompanied by respecting the territorial integrity of other countries.
MFA spokesperson: European officials made no such statement
STEPANAKERT, DECEMBER 9, ARTSAKHPRESS: Press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Armenia, Tigran Balayan, told the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am.
To the remark that information was disseminated in the press that, allegedly, either Hahn or High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, Federica Mogherini, had said such a thing, Balayan responded as follows:
“Neither Mogherini nor Hahn made such a statement. This information was based on the expression ascribed to Hahn by the Brussels correspondent of a media outlet, and which, in fact, was not said in that manner. But this did not stop other media outlets likewise from repeating it, and even presenting in a most distorted form.”
