Situation still tense on frontline, Armenian soldier killed

STEPANAKERT, DECEMBER 12, ARTSAKHPRESS: Nagorno-Karabakh’s Defense Ministry reports that as a result of the adversary’s sniper fire, Defense Army serviceman Karen Grigoryan, 20, was fatally wounded on Friday at around 8:40pm, at a military foothold of a Defense Army unit located in an easterly direction.

An investigation is underway to find out the details of this incident.

The Ministry shares the grief of the heavy loss, extending its solidarity with the family, friends and the fellow servicemen of the deceased.

The situation on the frontline remain tense, as the adversary continues shooting Armenian defense positions from ant-aircraft- and mine-launchers.

A total of 120 ceasefire violations were committed overnight, with Azerbaijan opening fire around 1,11000 times from weapons and heavy-launchers of different calibers.

The NKR Ministry of Defense stated that Azerbaijan’s provocative actions will not go unpunished, and this country’s military and political leadership is fully accountable for this situation.
