Inclusion of Armenian Genocide in Germany’s educational program is being discussed
STEPANAKERT, JUNE 16, ARTSAKHPRESS: “The Armenian Genocide is not fully presented in school books of Germany. Currently the inclusion of the subject is being discussed. This will contribute that representatives of different nations – including Turkish, living in Germany, will know the truth and will have a clear perception of what actually happened,” Aznavurian said.
Aznavurian says similar attempt was made previously – a pilot program was implemented in the state of Brandenburg, Germany.
“We want this experience to expand throughout the entire Germany, and to include the Armenian Genocide in school books. I think the Bundestag’s adoption of the Armenian Genocide recognition resolution will contribute to this program,” Aznavurian added.
On June 2 the Bundestag adopted the "Remembrance and commemoration of the genocide of Armenians and other Christian minorities in 1915 and 1916" resolution.
