The Armenian-Russian cultural cooperation has been very positive over the recent years, the Russian president’s representative for international cultural cooperation said today praising the implementation of joint cultural projects and initiatives.

STEPANAKERT, JULY 7, ARTSAKHPRESS:  Speaking to reporters at the Komitas Museum in Yerevan, Mikhail Shvydkoy highlighted particularly a recent Moscow-hosted civilization development exhibition which he said featured also the 1915 Armenian Genocide, Tert.am reports.

He added that Russia has been annually hosting days of Armenian cultural over the past years, with prominent representatives of Russian cultural simultaneously taking part in Armenian festivals (Renaissance, Golden Apricot etc).

Mr Shvydkoy said that their delegation yesterday met with Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosyan to consider plans for staging Russian drama performances in Yerevan.

“I don’t rule out the presence of very interesting personalities. I don’t think the Armenian today has a sufficiently good understanding of Russian literature,” he added.
