Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Samarkand, Uzbekistan on September 6 to pay tribute to the memory of Uzbekistan’s President Islam Karimov, TASS reported.

STEPANAKERT, SEPTEMBER 6, ARTSAKHPRESS: Islam Karimov, who stood at the head of Uzbekistan for the past quarter of a century, died in on September 2 at the age of 78. He was buried in his native city of Samarkand on September 3.
Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev led the Russian delegation to the funeral.
